Considering Roy "Big Country" Nelson's (16-6) has been able to win over Stefan Struve and Brendan Schaub, but lost to Frank Mir and current champion Junior Dos Santos, one might see him as a middle-of-the-division fighter.  Many believe Nelson has recently sort of reinvented himself with a TKO victory against well-over-the-hill Cro Cop. The victory has helped to further his plans of working his way up to a shot at the... well, he hasn't really mentioned any desire for the title in any interviews I've seen...but he's making a living off of fighting and I assume he likes to win more than lose, so I guess that's what he's fighting for.

Tonight on HBO there will finally be some boxing to satisfy my addiction. With larger bouts every what... two and a half to three months, its good to watch some higher caliber artistry in the squared circle. In the main event WBC Middleweight Champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (44-0-1, 31KO's) will be facing veteran Marco Antonio Rubio (53-5-1,KO's) in what will surely be a step up in class for Chavez Jr.

White skipped Press Conference because of Stupid Questions

UFC President Dana White
If anyone watched the UFC on FOX 2 post fight press conference, you may have noticed that UFC President Dana White was no where to be found. White decided to skip it because of questions that were going to be asked that he felt were flat out idiotic.

"There was so much hype for (Chael) Sonnen vs. (Michael) Bisping and the (Demian) Maia fight," White said. "Even after it changed, people were like, 'It's even more exciting now.' And then after, everybody's like, 'Aww, they set themselves up for these boring fights.' Shut up. People who come out after and say, 'Oh, we knew (this was going to happen),' you're a liar. You're a liar, you're an idiot, and you sound like an idiot when you say that."

Its Kill or be Killed for the Natural Born Killer: Condit v Diaz Preview

UFC Interim Title Contender Carlos Condit
UFC 143 is happening in Las Vegas this Saturday and is stacked with four fights that promise to deliver action-packed battles. All of these four fights are very competitive on paper and have real potential to be hard-fought decisions or deliver spectacular finishes.  Below is my prediction of who will be walking out of the UFC 143 card as Interim welterweight champion.
Nick Diaz vs Carlos Condit
Due to GSP’s injury, the UFC scheduled this fight to decide who will be the interim welterweight champion while GSP recovers from his knee surgery. Afterwards, the new interim champion will fight GSP for his belt sometime later this year. Condit has been on a rampage lately, knocking out his last three opponents. Just a side note, all three of those fighters had ever been knocked out before. He has won 12 out of his last 13 fights and his only loss in that period was a controversial split decision to Martin Kampmann.

Henderson waits for Jones, Will Jones move to Heavyweight?

Is Henderson really doing the same thing he was just insulting?
On the horn:

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion: Jon Jones
UFC President Dana White has a lot to deal with now-a-days. The UFC growing to a nationally televised FOX deal and seemingly never enough fights for fans have caused White to always be on camera and in the media's eye to catch up. This means that the UFC face has to make many quotes about many things, now we get a chance to break down those statements with BS Scanner.

The scanner is designed by SRMMA to determine how much we can trust any given statement made and it's based on a scale that goes as follows from true to most untrue: "Grade 'A' Truth", "I'll Allow it" (believable), "Smellin' a bit" (Some truth speckled with exaggerations, close to complete bull), "Let's get my Boots" ( to walk through all the bull on the floor this statement has caused, totally BS).

LET'S GET MY BOOTS:
"Dan Henderson's in a position right now where it looks like he wants to wait for Jon Jones," White said.

Josh Koscheck vs Mike Pierce

In his second fight since losing a title fight to GSP, Koscheck returns to face up and coming fellow wrestler, Mike Pierce.  Pierce is coming of two split decisions, one of those is his latest a win over Paul Bradley and the other a loss to Johny Hendricks (12-1). Previously, Pierce’s fight against John Fitch opened a lot of eyes. Some fans argue Pierce won that fight, which was only his second in the UFC. Against Koscheck, however, Pierce faces a superior wrestler with proven KO power, but says he has been eyeing the match up since Koscheck allegedly didn't want to fight Pierce earlier in their careers.

Fabricio Werdum returns to the UFC after delivering one of the biggest upsets in MMA history at Strikeforce.

His submission of Fedor sent a shock wave throughout the fighting world and reminded everyone why he is one of the top heavyweights in the sport.

Roy Nelson has been trimming his weight down lately and is a lot lighter than he used to be inside the octagon.

Is his new physique going to translate into a more athletic performance in the cage?

Greg Page: beat up Tyson, shocked Lewis, saved boxing

I was having a conversation recently and I had to re-assert an old homage that went something like "There is always someone Bigger and Badder," and believe me its true.

In the late 80's and early to mid 90's Iron Mike Tyson was Invincible to me. I didn't think anybody could beat him. And then I came across the story of GREG PAGE (58-17-1,48 KO's).

Page laid the blueprint for how to beat Iron Mike Tyson before Tyson was ever beaten professionally and the showcased the style that later stunned Lennox Lewis (41-2-1,32KO's) through the hands of Oliver Mccall (56-11,37KO's).

As SOPA and its contemporaries continue to be discussed, the war of ideals between corporate mercenary/ambitious capitalist Dana White and deviant hacker/freedom fighter Josh The God grows hotter. Even after SOPA has been shelved, Josh and Dana seemed to have turned this into a personal battle of egos. White reiterated the sentiment to Ariel Helwani about being unafraid of the Internet, but refused to cite any acts of fear on the part of reporters.

"You guys are terrified of the internet. I'm not," Dana said to a group of reporters. "The internet is a place where cowards live."

FIGHT OF THE NIGHT:
EVAN DUNHAM v NIK LENTZ

Nik Lentz (21-5-2) was the opponent of Evan Dunham (13-2) in the fight that took home "Fight of the Night" honors at UFC on FUEL TV. Lentz is an interesting oddity in the UFC because his record is rather quality, he won five and earned a draw in his first six UFC bouts, but he has hit a road block that is stopping the progression of his growth in the organization. Dunham has gotten his second straight victory after hitting his two fight losing streak that saw his rise to title contention hampered a controversial loss to Sean Sherk, Dunham won in my opinion, and a brutal TKO to Melvin Guillard.

"When I heard the decision that the doctors stopped it, I was a little bummed out. As a fighter, you want to prove to yourself that you can finish the fight," Dunham said. "I'll take the 'W,' but I would have preferred to finish it on my terms."

The pitched back-and-fourth kickboxing battle between George Roop (12-9) and Cub Swanson (16-5) was ended by a classic duck-under-overhand-right by Cub. Roop was caught with his chin up, left arm mid-hook. If only Roop had tucked his chin, his mouthpiece might not have flown out of his face and bounced off the cage.

"I didn't even wrestle for this camp. I worked some defense. I worked judo throws, just because I knew if we hit the cage, he would push me up against the cage and make it a boring, ugly, stalled-out fight if he had to... I knew that he might try to knee me if I shot in on him."

Weidman looked impressive in 11 days, Maia not so much. Weidman gets the decision

Demian Maia (left) v Chris Weidman (right) at UFC on FOX 2.
Chris Weidman was 7-0 coming into a fight against a UFC veteran that now has 13 fights inside the cage as the last minute replacement on just ten days notice. Weidman had only that much time to cut the proper weight and prepare for a former number one middle weight contender. Weidman was able to stay out of any dangerous jui jitsu positions that would have given Demian Maia (15-4) the advantage in the fight that, many felt he would eventually obtain and, would have positioned him further along his path to a rematch with the champion.

Weidman pressed the action and continued to push through the much improved striking of Maia, but the striking for Maia was only better because he primarily focused on pure jui jitsu early in his career. Maia pawed poorly at Weidman and truly offered his opposition a counter striking game that seemed to scare Weidman in no way. Weidman's biggest challenge was the weight cut that saw him losing steam at the end of the second round.

"Somewhere in the second, going into the third. . .I didn't have much left but it just came down to heart at that point," Weidman said.

Bisping Got ROBBED. Sonnen wins a Razor Close Decision

UFC middle weight Champion Anderson Silva will be taking on Chael Sonnen again for another potential defense of his title. Sonnen (27-11-1) is the only man that was ever seconds away from taking the UFC belt away from arguably the "pound for pound" best fighter on the the planet, although Sonnen said post fight Silva has turned him down multiple times.

"They offered him the fight four times," Sonnen said at the post fight presser. "He turned it down four times."

The question that should be raised is whether or not Michael Bisping should be fighting for the title and not Sonnen? The answer is yes and Bisping (22-4) should upset that MMA judging still hasn't gotten to the point where damage is not the superior measure of how to determine a winner.

Sonnen beat Bisping by unanimous decision, 29-28, 29-28, 30-27, to get that much closer to a title shot that most likely will happen later this year in Brazil. The biggest question on the table is how on earth did Sonnen win three rounds on one of these cards?Even the winner, Sonnen, confirmed at the post fight press conference what Bisping said after the fight about Sonnen's comments inside the cage.

"I feel I won the fight, Chael (Sonnen) even thinks that way," Bisping said.
