West Coast Fighting featherweight champion Andre 'The Fury' Fili spent his time on the Verbal Scrap Podcast discussing everything from his coming fight against Chris Saunders at Tachi Palace Fights on November 15th, to training with Team Alpha male, to the best way for women to flirt with him. Many in the industry may know Fili for either his ten professional MMA victories, his West Coast Fighting title, or his five first round finishes. His last bout, against Ricky Wallace, was even discussed on the the popular MMA television show 'Inside MMA' hosted by the legendary Bas Rutten.

"Seeing myself on Inside MMA was probably cooler than winning the fight honestly," Fili said on VERBAL SCRAP (www.srmma.com). "To hear Bas Rutten talk about my fight. It sounds corny but that's something you dream about."
A lesser known fact about the mixed martial arts phenom is that he has been involved in the music industry for quite some time now. He is the front man for a new group known as It's Godzilla, and their style would be labelled by Fili as "a math rock, hardcore rock group." But where one band may be too much for another person, Fili has been involved with another group called Boss Biz since he was a young man. He says the group is much more to him than just a musical act, but a band of brothers.
"That's like my family. I grew up with those guys," Fili said on Verbal Scrap (www.srmma.com). "Then we started making hip-hop. We've been doing that since we were probably like eighth grade. I was like thirteen (years old)."
OPEN MIC INFORMATION
UFC hopeful Fili is not only a dynamic talent to handle inside the cage but possess a completely different type of 'beast-mode' on stage. After seeing a previous It's Godzilla show at the storied Boardwalk venue in Orangevale, CA, it was clear that Fili's personable stage presence resonated with fans on a much deeper level than a typical rock star diva type persona, which he is clearly not. The pressures of fighting are null and void on stage according to Fili who said in a previous SRMMA interview that music was just a fun way to express yourself. Being a family oriented man, Fili has also expanded his family to include several more intricate people in his success. Team Alpha Male teammate Anthony Avila, who will also fight on the TPF 15 card against fighting Darren Crisp Jr., and MMAGOLD Manager Dave Hirschbein are now the type of friends Fili says he can enjoy the spoils that may come with the ride to the top of the MMA world.

INSIDE MMA HIGHLIGHTS

.
"It's hard sometimes being young and grinding it out through a fight camp," Fili said on VERBAL SCRAP (www.srmma.com). "A lot of people have to do it by themselves. I just feel blessed to have (Avila) as my friend and a training partner. It's just a wild ride you know, we're enjoying it."
To hear and support Boss Biz you can check out the free download of their latest mixtape here and like their facebook. Listen and download It's Godzilla here and like their facebook for more band information. Both bands will be playing an open mic night November 3, so check out their social media for more information. Fili is known for effectively landing hard and devastating strikes in the cage, but it seems that his musical talents lend credence to the musical legend Bob Marley's quote, "One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain."
