On Oct. 20, the Titan's Cage promotion will be holding one of the larger amateur MMA events to hit the Sacramento area in recent times. The card is hosting a title fight in four different divisions including welterweight, lightweight and flyweight. Jacob Pupo is set to take on Cameron Wright for the vacant bantamweight (145 lbs) title as the fourth championship fight, and Pupo has been doing his research in preparation for the title opportunity.
"I studied both his fights, he seems like a scrappy dude on his feet," Pupo told SR (www.srmma.com). "He's a tough kid but I feel I'm ready wherever it goes. It would be awesome (to win the title) and get my name out there, getting well known in a legitimate promotion."

Also on the card is a heavyweight match up with knock out potential according to Zeke Johnston (1-1), who is set to fight Jason Danziger (0-1). Although Johnston is coming off of a loss, the fight was for an amateur heavyweight title. He believes his move to Monstrinho BJJ has helped with the ground game immensely, but Johnston made it clear what he plans on delivering to fans come fight night.
"We're heavyweights, everyone wants to see us stand and bang," Johnston told SR (ww.srmma.com). "I anticipate that everybody there is going to be excited to see two big guys clashing in the middle of the cage."
But come Oct 6th, it's all about boxing in Sacramento as Battle of the Badges presents a card full of northern California's top amateur talent involved with law enforcement, military and firefighters. Johnston actually stepped in as of today (10/05/12) to compete in this event as well. The co-main event of the evening is a bout for the NorCal welterweight title between (UCA 2nd ranked) Neil Tremethick of the U.S. Army and (UCA 3rd ranked) Brent Bugarin of Santa Clara PD.

"The winner of the Bugarin and Tremethick fight, not only are they going to win the NorCal title that night," UCA Rankings Chairman Tom Gaffney told SR (www.srmma.com). "They will be the northern (California) representative to fight the SoCal number one guy for the state title."
