Inside MMA is reporting that the Zuffa owned Strikeforce is currently in danger of cancelling it's November 3rd event. This would be the second consecutive event cancelled following the previous cancellation of the entire Melendez vs Healy card.
"There is a strong possibility that Showtime will no longer broadcast Strikeforce events," Host Kenny Rice said on Inside MMA. "This could very possibly signify the end of the Strikeforce brand."
UFC 155, on December 29, will be the rematch of the former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and current champion Junior Dos Santos. Their first match up was in Anaheim, CA, at the first UFC on FOX event last year (2011). Dos Santos seems very protective of his new title, and expressed his certainty in the same result as the first fight that had him the victor by first round knockout.
"I believe so much that I will win this fight by knockout," Dos Santos said. "If he thinks he's better than me, when we fight again, he's going to change his mind."
