       An action-packed night of fights at the Chicken Ranch Casino was highlighted by two female MMA championship fights headlining the amateur card Saturday night. Mercedez Campos and Denise Bruckner battled for the strawweight strap at the Art of War event entitled 'MMAGOLD', both fighters came to fight and quite possibly stole the show in less than an entire round.

“I'm really excited right now, I knew that my opponent was going to be really tough," Campos told SR (www.srmma.com). "That's why I wanted to fight her, and I'm really excited that I got a belt.”

       Campos and Bruckner began the fight in a flurry of punches that drove the crowd to a frenzy. 
“I love stand up (striking)," Campos told SR. "I prefer standing up because I like to stand and bang.”

       The toe-to-toe exchanges would not last however, as Campos clinched Bruckner against the cage and attempted a standing arm-triangle choke. Campos then executed a take down, ending up in full mount. Bruckner defended the arm-triangle choke attempt, forcing Campos to change tactics and land some ground and pound punches from mount. This forced Bruckner to cover up, which opened up another submission attempt.

Campos seized the opportunity and quickly latched onto an armbar which sealed the deal and the Strawweight championship for the Last Stand Fight Team representative.
