       For the first time in memory, the UFC has announced that it will be cancelling an entire card because the number one contender for the light heavyweight title has injured his knee and is forced to pull out of the fight. 
"It’s major, major deal," White said. "We lose [expletive] of money, money that’s already been spent. We’re eight days out. We’ve spent [expletive] of money on this fight. How long, how far it goes and how bad it hurts. I don’t know because it’s the first time we’ve done it."
       UFC 151 was scheduled for September 1 at the Mandalay Bay event center, but unfortunately the entire mass appeal of the card was apparently tied to the main event. UFC President Dana White announced yesterday that Chael Sonnen was offered as a replacement fight for Jones but the champion declined to fight Sonnen on eight days notice. Now Jones is set to take on Machida in a rematch as the headliner of UFC 152 on September 22.
“This is probably one of my all time lows as being president of the UFC,” said White. “For the first time in 11 years, we’re going to cancel an event. Dan Henderson has a partial tear in his MCL (and could not continue).”
       Previously, UFC 12 had to be quickly relocated to Dothan, Alabama due to New York banning MMA in 1997. However, a complete cancellation of an entire UFC Event is unprecedented. White has taken a clear stance on this issue, he blames the champion, Jon “Bones” Jones for not accepting a late-replacement, Chael Sonnen.
“Chael Sonnen accepted the fight with Jon Jones last night," White said. "At 8 or 9 last night the one thing I never thought would happen in a million years happened. Jon Jones said, I won't fight Chael Sonnen on eight days notice. That has never happened either."
