Lee Roy Castro (4-1 CAMO) claimed another belt on August 4th, 2012 at Central Coast Throwdown event to add to his Titan's Cage middleweight title. Castro took on Karl Mitchell (3-1 CAMO) for the then-vacant CCT welterweight title at 170lbs, and used his striking game to finish by rear naked choke.
CASTRO WITH TITLE
"It's been a dream and now it's dream doubled," Castro told Matthew (www.srmma.com). "I got him with a number two (right straight punch) and I guess that shock him so I just wanted to finish the fight as much as I can."
Mitchell kept Castro at range early in the fight, using footwork, jabs, and kicks. After several even clashes, Castro caught Mitchell with a right hook coming in, staggering him as Castro attempted to pound out a finish. However, Mitchell used defensive wrestling in order to avoid the finish, grabbing his opponent and attempting to pull him in. Castro was able to take Mitchell's back in the scramble and apply a rear naked choke, causing Mitchell to tap and winning the Central Coast Throwdown welterweight title. Castro didn't hold back with his desire to turn professional.
"I just wanted to bang," Castro told Matthew (www.srmma.com). "I just wanted to show that I got hands. . . I got two belts and like the joker says, 'If your good at something why do it for free'".
Now holding titles in two weight classes, the other being the Titan's Cage middleweight belt, Castro is looking to go pro with his talent.
Trea (blue) hitting Peterson (red).
Also on the card, Richard Treas (3-0 CAMO) took on Timothy Peterson that night. Peterson came in early with a 1-2 combo that landed, and circled as Treas stalked him.  However, Treas was timing Peterson and caught him with a right and dropping him. Treas was declared winner via TKO at 0:39 in the first round.
