(CONTINUED). . . PREVIEW INCLUDED
Central Coast Throwdown is holding there event named "BAD BLOOD" tomorrow night, August 4, in the bay area of California. The main event is a rematch between Jaime Alvarado (4-1 CAMO) and JR Lugo (1-0-1 CAMO) of their April 14 bout in which Lugo won by knock out in twenty seconds of round one.
"I knew it was going to end by knock out either one of us," Lugo told J. Waugh (www.srmma.com). "We both got heavy hands, he has three knock outs in five fights so I pretty much knew it was going to end by knock out one way or another."
That was Alvarado's only loss so far in his other wise perfect career, one in which he finished his first three fights by TKO. Alvarado spoke about the need for a fighter to be collectively ready to go for a fight, not just physically, and believes he just wasn't mentally involved for the first match up between the two.
"I wasn't there spiritually in the last fight," Alvarado said to J. Waugh (www.srmma.com). "I had a lot of ups and downs those few weeks and I wasn't completely there (mentally)."
Alvarado has since won his last fight by first round submission and said he is focused for this rematch. He has finished every fight he has won and says that he has found the way to move past the first fight.
"Stay humble, stay grateful for the people you have," Alvarado told J. Waugh (www.srmma.com). "Honestly, I'm going to win by knock out. I'm not satisfied by decisions."
Lugo expressed his desire to finish the fight again for a second time around, especially considering this match up is for the CC Throwdown heavyweight title. He said he has put in many hard hours with coaches and trainers in preparation for this title fight. He also felt that some people may have considered the first fight to not be conclusive enough a statement and is prepared to unquestionably finish any disputes once and for all.
"I like to bang, I like to put on a show for the fans," Lugo told J. Waugh (www.srmma.com). "This one I'm going to make sure there is no question about it who the winner is, and that's all I got to say about that."
The fight takes place August 4th in Salinas, CA, and tickets can be found at CCTHROWDOWN.COM. Check out SRMMA.COM for coming news and results as well as stay in touch on facebook.com/srmma and twitter @SRMMAtweets.
