BOSEN (R), LOPEZ (CLOSEST).
Ultimate Reno Combat 35 hosted the ISCF heavyweight title fight between defender Terrell "Big Baby" Bosen (5-1) of team Sharp Nux and challenger Ben Lopez (2-2) of Team No Excuse, both weighing in at 265 lbs.  The bout took place on July 20th, 2012 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada.
"I actually started off in boxing in Fresno, and then I moved right on to MMA." - Terrell Bosen told Matthew (www.SRMMA.com).
Lopez was active on his feet as he came forward with jabs and combos, but Bosen soon got a feel for his rhythm and landed counters with his right hand. From the clinch, Lopez threw Bosen over his leg, landing a beautiful takedown into half guard. However, Bosen transitioned to full guard and controlled Lopez's posture, nullifying his offense until the referee stood the fighters up.
BOSEN POUNDING OUT THE FINISH.
"I have really underrated jiu jitsu.  That's how I actually won the belt, from a kimura." - Terrell Bosen told Matthew (www.SRMMA.com).
On the feet, Bosen continued to out-time Lopez, catching him coming in with an overhand right. This wobbled Lopez enough for Bosen to land the finishing combination, ending the bout at 1:57 in the first round via TKO.
RAMIREZ (TOP) WITH THE FINISH
"I've actually got a couple more fights set up in ammy [amateur] and the straight off to pro." - Terrell Bosen told Matthew (www.SRMMA.com).
URC 35 also saw Ryan Hamilton (0-1) fight Danny Ramirez (2-0) in the 170 lbs division. Ramirez was the aggressor in the first round, but Hamilton's head movement kept Ramirez from landing many significant shots. Hamilton repeatedly ducked under Ramirez's punches for a takedown, but Ramirez's balance kept him from the mat all but once, and he got up shortly after.
"Where I feel comfortable is the ground." - Danny Ramirez told Matthew (www.SRMMA.com).
RAMIREZ WITH HIS HAND RAISED.
The second round displayed Ramirez's wrestling experience, with Ramirez reversing an early take down attempt and maintaining top position while laying down heavy ground and pound.  In the third round, Ramirez landed a heavy counter right hand and took Hamilton's back in the ensuing scuffle. Ramirez continued his assault from top position before the referee intervened, ending the fight at 2:25 in the third round via TKO.
"I want to thank all the marines that support the fight team." - Danny Ramirez told Matthew (www.SRMMA.com).
