“I’m going out with him in the standup," Teixeria said. "I have to be smart and not stand still, move, fight the right fight. But, I’ll work on the strategy with my coaches.”
(CONTINUED). . .

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has been scheduled to fight Glover Teixeira (18-2) at UFC 153 on October 13, 2012 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This fight will either be the continuation of Teixeira's now 16 fight win streak, or the end of Rampage's now two fight losing streak. Either way, this fight will be the last we see Rampage compete in the UFC. Though Teixeira is relatively new to the UFC, having won his first UFC fight against Kyle Kingsbury via arm-triangle choke at UFC 146, he's been in MMA for a while. Performing mostly in the Brazilian circuit while working out USA visa issues, he remains undefeated since 2005.
"It’s true, they wanted to put a tough guy, a good name against me, and that’s cool. It shows that they liked my fight and trust me to put on a good show." - Teixeira said.
Hailing from 'The Pit', Former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell's training camp, Teixeira is a powerful striker with 11 knockouts to his name. This is a good match up for Rampage, who has complained about the UFC giving him wrestlers to fight when he'd rather stand and bang. Rampage will finally get his slug fest, and Tiexiera will get the chance to take on a legend in MMA.
ZILLA'S BREAKDOWN:
I see things going very much in Teixeira's favor. Rampage has been vocally unhappy with the UFC and wishing not to fight for the promotion. I have gone over why I don't expect that much from Rampage in his final bout.  At the end of a strained relationship with Rampage, the UFC pits him against Brazilian finisher in Brazil, a country whose fighters most often win at home.  I suspect that UFC matchmakers are hoping to build their Brazilian prospect with a win against a big name, similar to that of Ryan Bader.
"I wish I didn't have to fight," Jackson told Inside MMA. "I wish I didn't have any more fights with them (UFC). I'm trying to get out of this one fight."
I would love to be wrong and see a strong performance out of Rampage on his way out. I know Rampage loves to put on a show with every opponent, but I worry his disgruntled state will lead to an unmotivated combatant in the cage.
