"It feels great. I've been waiting to main event for quite some time, although it is a lot more nerve-racking honestly. I want to put on a great show for the crowd and for myself," Sean Nelson told MattZilla pre-fight.

Sean Nelson (3-2 CAMO) and David Hamilton (2-3 CAMO) faced off for the Galaxy Fight Night middleweight belt on July 28th, 2012 and Nelson was aware of the power of Hamilton.

"I've studied up on him and I can tell his hands are very heavy, he likes to throw bombs, and I know I'm going to be very cautious in this fight," Nelson told Matthew (www.srmma.com) pre-fight. "Depending on how accurate he is, I could take it to the ground, but at the same time I could stand and bang with him and test his chin."
Early in the first round, Hamilton got the better of the stand up exchanges, landing hooks and using head movement to avoid Nelson's strikes. Hamilton landed a hard uppercut that dropped Nelson to a knee before pursuing him to the mat. Nelson took evasive action by striking back and defending, Nelson bought enough time to clear his head and regain composure.

"I pride myself on the ground (game).  Striking is something I truly do need to work on," Sean Nelson told Matthew (www.srmma.com) post-fight. "Luckily I have Armando Sabala here and his son Junior. They are great stand up fighters and I plan on working with them with my stand up."

During an exchange, Hamilton ducked a punch to take down Nelson.  However, Nelson secured a hold on Hamilton's neck on the way down. Nelson applied pressure with his guillotine choke from the bottom and Hamilton was forced to tap out in the first round, making Nelson Galaxy Fight Night's first middleweight champion.
"Honestly, I'm speechless," Nelson said post fight. "I can't even explain how I feel."
