(CONTINUED). . .FIGHT PREVIEW

West Coast Fighting welterweight champion Justin Baesman (10-2) was originally scheduled to take on Kito Andrews in his first title defense for WFC. The fight has since been changed and the September 8 match up will pit Baesman against a UFC and Strikeforce veteran. His opponent, Tim Mckenzie (14-9), will be looking to put together back to back victories for the first time since 2006, during which time he has faced top notch opponents including the Steve Cantwell, Aaron Simpson and former UFC middleweight number one contender Chael Sonnen. This fight is advertised as the 185 lbs middleweight title main event of the evening. Baesman is trying to make WFC history and hold his current welterweight title along with the middleweight belt. Mckenzie has showcased his striking prowess as of late considering he is coming off of a victory by TKO in just 11 seconds of the first round in his last bout, 2011. Baesman spoke to SRMMA about his discipline for this coming bout.
"I'm focused," Baesman told Johnny Waugh (www.srmma.com). "I'm fighting every fight as if I'm fighting for the UFC, as if they are watching me."
Baesman is coming off of winning the title earlier this year by taking former champion Max "Pain" Griffin to the judges cards and winning the decision. Baesman vs Mckenzie is scheduled for September 8, more information including ticket info can be found at WestCoastFighting.com.
