UMIPIG (RED) AND MOORE (BLUE) EXCHANGING KICKS
Brandon Umipig (of Nobody MMA) and Demitry Moore entered the cage on June 22nd at the Huck's Dawgs of War / Stand Up Fighters event in Roseville,CA. The two were set to compete for the Standup Fighters 165lb Title. Throughout the fight, Umipig was the aggressor, moving forward and trying to corner Moore. Though Moore landed a few solid kicks and some counter-punching, Umipig pushed the pace on the feet.
ANOTHER EXCHANGE OF KICKS.
"We've seen a lot of guys win the standup game for a minute and a half, and get taken down for the last thirty seconds, ground and pounded a little bit, and loose the round.  So we figure, we're standup fighters to start with, but lets go ahead and win it standing up and make sure we solidify the round by showing that we also have wrestling skills." - Brandon Umipig told MattZilla post-fight.
That strategy played out well in the cage. Umipig scored a take down each round, though Moore was able to work his way back up into a clinch position the majority of the time. Near the end of the fight, Moore attempted a triangle choke from guard, but was too fatigued and Umipig continued his ground-and-pound until the bell. Brandon Umipig was declared the winner by split decision.
