Bluto's Sports Bar & Grill will serve as host on Friday June 8th as West Coast Fighting Championships will be holding the weigh-ins for their
"Showdown" card this weekend. The event will start at 6:00
pm but the earlier people arrive the more likelihood of getting a seat. Starting at 5 PM fans that can't make the weigh ins can Listen Live to the Verbal Scrap Podcast to hear the fighters they want to hear. Fighters will include WCFC welterweight champion Max Griffin, Light Heavyweight champion Anthony Ruiz, contenders Justin Baesman, Scott Rosa, Jesse Bowen, Andre Fili, Mark Matthews, Jared Torgeson and more. coming Saturday, June 9, he will be defending his title against Scott Rosa (3-0), a late
addition to the card. Ruiz's original opponent, Angel De Anda, left the
card due to injury but Ruiz trains with top level fighters that he feels
has him ready for anyone.

"Your only as good as your training
partners," Ruiz said on Verbal Scrap (www.srmma.com). "(Josh) Koscheck's
bringing in guys left and right. . . I'm banging with Cain Velasquez
and their (AKA's) crew of guys."

Ruiz (28-16) took the time to speak with the Verbal Scrap show about his game plan coming into this title defense. Ruiz believes his veteran experience is going to be the down fall of his up and coming opponent.
"I'm not going to let him play his game," Ruiz said on Verbal Scrap (www.srmma.com). "I'm going to play my game. I'm the veteran here. (Rosa) never fought anybody like me and he's going to pay for it."
