On the most recent episode of The Verbal Scrap Podcast presented by SRMMA.COM, United Combat Association Rankings Chairman and Battle of the Badges (BOTB) Match Maker Tom Gaffney announced that the next BOTB event held in Sacramento, CA will be at a venue many may have previously only known for baseball. Raley Field, home of Major League Baseball's Oakland A's triple A affiliate the Sacramento River Cats, will also be the venue for the September 8th BOTB in Sacramento.
"Once the call was made (to raley field) they were real excited." Gaffney said on Verbal Scrap (www.srmma.com). "They kind of said 'Hey let's do it' and got the ball rolling a little faster than expected."
MINUTE 21 -
Richard Rigmaden (2-1) talked to SR about his 22 second victory over Matt Clark at the Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium on May 18. The 'Up & Comers' card was the event that Rigmaden was excited about because of the hometown venue. Although Clark was a willing opponent, the fight went quickly in Rigmaden's favor.
"The game plan was to come out and bang," Rigmaden said on Verbal Scrap (www.srmma.com) "We went to the ground quick. He tried to take me down, I reversed his take down, got on top and I dominated fast."

Stephen Volz took on Deniko Sisk at the Nor Cal Combat event early this year. The fight was quick and ended in the first round, but Volz of Ground Zero Extreme Fighting has filed an appeal of the decision because of what they believe to be "illegal strikes". |
