"Beating Pay Barry is an excellent achievement, probably the highest achievement of my career so far." - Lavar Johnson said post-fight.

Johnson (17-5) displayed his complete MMA game against Pat Barry (7-5) at UFC on FOX
3. Johnson dominated the stand up, coming out ahead on the exchanges. After being taken down, mounted, and threatened with a submission,
Johnson escaped back up to his feet where he rocked Barry with his
powerful boxing.
"He had perfect position to rain some elbows, but he didn't, so I think he was just trying to stall to gain his breath back." - Lavar Johnson told MMAFighting post-fight.
The assault continued as Barry was backed up into a corner until he collapsed from Johnson's on slaught of uppercuts and straight punches, giving him two consecutive knockout of the night honors. With his record completely void of decisions and 13 fights ending in the first round, Johnson has proved himself to be both a talented and entertaining striker. His defeat of Barry certainly elevates him to at least the mid-range of the UFC heavyweight division. However, this result fares poorly for Barry, who hasn't put together a win streak since he joined the UFC in 2008. While Barry is an entertaining fighter with a big personality, his record is continuing to tarnish with each passing year. The UFC has held on to much less successful fighters than Barry, so I believe that his winning personality will keep him in the organization for at least a few more bouts to prove that he belongs.
