This weekend will be the release of UFC fighter Cung Le's newest movie, "Dragon Eyes". Le co-stars with movie legend Jean-Claude Van Damme in this high pace action thriller in which Le not only stars but choreographs the fights scenes through out the film as well. Le also cast many MMA fighters for the film.
"Most of the villains were cast by me too," Le said. "Dan Henderson, Gilbert Melendez, Trevor Prangley. . . it's going to be good."
Le spoke about Van Damme's plan to get into the fight business, unclear as to when or where, and the light sparring the two did on set for the movie. Although the sparring was by no means intense or truly focused according to Le, the two filmed some sparring sessions for the movie itself.
"Van Damme and myself talked a lot about nutrition," Le's said. "He said he wanted to fight and he was getting ready to prepare for it, So we did a little sparring on set and they filmed it. It wasn't hardcore. . . but he was definitely trying to take my head off with his hook kick," Le said jokingly.
The movie comes out in limited release this weekend. Below are the cities and times the film "Dragon Eyes" becomes available to the public.
