UFC on FUEL TV 3 added another bout to its lineup when UFC officials announced that stand out Dustin Poirier and Chang "The Korean Zombie" Jung have agreed to meet inside the cage. Although Jung (12-3) has gone 3-3 in his last six fights, he has won his two UFC fights in fan pleasing fashion. First he dispatched Leonard Garcia with a rarely seen Twister submission, then he won by seven second knock out is his last UFC outing. Poirier has won his last six fights and only lost one bout professionally, that fight was a decision loss to Danny Castillo. Poirier is 12-1 and has finished his last two opponents by submission, the last at UFC 143 over Max Halloway with a mounted triangle arm bar. Since Jung's seven second KO came over a former title contender, Mark Hominick, this fight is most likely a contender eliminator fight, meaning the winner with take on Jose Aldo for the featherweight title.
"Poirier and 'The Korean Zombie' are two of the most exciting fighters in the UFC. This is going to be a fun fight. From top to bottom, I will deliver for the fans in Virginia."
UFC on FUEL TV 3 is set for May 15, 2012 and tickets, that range from $44 to $229, go on sale March 16 to the general public. Jeremy Stephens vs Donald Cerrone are also scheduled to be on the same card.
