If the two biggest men in the UFC, Lesnar vs Overeem, wasn't going to be enough to satisfy your desire for highly dramatic and entertaining MMA then you were in luck at UFC 141.
The co-main event featured Donald Cerrone (now 17-4-1) against the season five ultimate fighter winner Nate Diaz (now 15-7).
Cerrone and Diaz exchanged words many times before the bout which had many even more excited to view the outcome of this very important lightweight match up.
Although the fight went to decision, it was never really that close. Diaz won unanimously , 30-27, 30-27, 29-28 on the official score cards and showcased the boxing talent that he is often underrated for using in the octagon.
Cerrone came out from the opening bell trying to knock the head of Diaz right off. Diaz was more than a game opponent and continued to slip punches through the guard of Cerrone almost at will.
After a first round that was clearly won by Nate Diaz, Cerrone implemented a game plan of leg kicks that caused Diaz to be put on his butt multiple times from leg sweeps.
"I knew that [leg sweeps were] making me look bad," Diaz said in the post fight press conference."I just tried to get back up and do what I had to do."
