UFC Heavyweight Frank Mir sinking in a kneebar at UFC 81

Well, he asked for it, and he got it. The clash of two former heavyweight champions is upon us. Upon Toronto at the Air Canada Centre, to be specific

In 2008, Mir became the first person to finish Big Nog in the cage. That's quite an accomplishment, considering Nog is the guy who submitted Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic and Mark Coleman in their prime, the Pride years.

The last WEC Welterweight Champ Carlos Condit

After learning that Nick Diaz will be cut from the main event at UFC 137, we also learned that contender Carlos Condit has been moved up from the co-main event against BJ Penn to fight for the welterweight title against George "Rush" St. Pierre in the main event.

Carlos Condit has a four fight win streak with notable wins over Rory Macdonald, Dan Hardy, and Jake Ellenberger.

Three of his last four wins are by way of KO and he has won twelve of his last thirteen fights. Condit trains out of Jackson Fighting Systems and is the last ever WEC Welterweight Champion after the UFC dissolved the title and division

In the unprecedented press conference video, St. Pierre said that "Condit has way more power, way more diversity of attack than Nick Diaz has,"  St. Pierre continued " I do believe that if Carlos Condit and Nick Diaz would fight, I would put my money on Carlos Condit, so for me it's even a bigger challenge."

Former UFC contender Nick Diaz

Diaz was set to fight George "Rush" St-Pierre at UFC 137. He did so by not showing up to back-to-back press conferences. The first in Toronto on Tuesday (9/6/11) and the second in Las Vegas (9/7/11).

The UFC arranged a flight for Diaz on Air Canada to take him from San Francisco to Toronto on Monday (9/5/11) at 1:15pm. Diaz missed that flight and then talked to Dana at 4:00pm and said "re-book me a flight tonight".

Diaz was re-booked to another Air Canada flight out of San Francisco at 9:50pm. Diaz texted Dana later on and said, "yeah I won't be making that flight." Diaz's camp then contacted the UFC offices and had them arrange a third flight out of Sacramento on Southwest and Diaz again did not make that flight.

So it finally happened. After being loosed from Strikeforce, the former Strikeforce heavyweight champion is now signed with the UFC and is scheduled to fight former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar is known for his wrestling, in which he has a strong background. He attended University of Minnesota on a full wrestling scholarship, winning the 2000 NCAA championship and ending his college career with a record of 106-5.

After taking the UFC heavyweight belt from Randy Couture in 2008, he defended his title twice before losing it to Cain Velasquez at UFC 121.

UFC welterweight Diego Sanchez

It seems as though fighters are getting too injured to fight more and more often as of late. The"Dream" Diego Sanchez is the next in that line of fighters to receive unfortunate injuries just before their bout.

Sanchez has been pulled from the UFC 135 match up against former welterweight champion Matt Hughes which was slated to be the co-main event of the epic Jon Jones vs Rampage Jackson title fight card.

It took less than two whole minutes into the UFC 134 co-main event between Forrest Griffin and Shogun Rua for me to realize that what I thought and hoped about Griffin pulling it out came crashing down.

In just 1:53 of round number 1, Shogun Rua hit Griffin with some almost lethal like hammer fists that called the fight to a halt with Griffin reaching for Shogun but just never being able to pull him close enough to stop the strikes from reigning down.

After Nogueira's performance at UFC 134 against Brendan Schaub, a performance that earned him KO of the Night honors, he was asked in an interview with Ariel Hawani about his fight back to the cage.

Noguiera said that he was very motivated by Schaub's comments about being able to knock out the Brazilian in his home country.

Nog spoke about Schaub's over confidence in his right hand and that he specifically train his counter punches to damage Schaub when that over confidence surfaced, which it did.

Mayweather (Left) vs Ortiz (Right)

Mayweather vs Ortiz 24/7 episode one was chopped full of entertainment, lore, struggle, and incident. But what is really going on and what are we being fed? Ortiz' story has the backdrop consisting of a tattered family relationship torn by abandonment and reprisal through his devotion to the sport.

While Mayweather is nothing but glitz, glamour, bravado, and disrespect (or so it would seem). I can see why everyone wants Mayweather to lose. It is a classic GOOD V.S. EVIL, White clad Cowboy V.S Black Stallion and the Villain. But what I think people fail to realize about Mayweather is that he isn't talking to us when he goes in in front of the media, he's talking to his CRITIC'S.

ESPN Mag- You took down Fedor Emelianenko on July 30. How did it feel to be the underdog?

HENDERSON- Just because he's got some mystique about him doesn't mean he's going to come out and beat my ass.

ESPN Mag- Aren't you supposed to slow with age?

HENDERSON- Nope, a lot of that is mental. But now I focus on cross-training more than on sparring, which can wear your body down, and I give myself the weekends off. I still do two-a-days twice a week, though.
