Strikeforce: Fedor vs Henderson fight card RUNDOWN!!

On the horn with:
LEAD SR WRITER

Fedor Emelianenko vs Dan Henderson:

Fedor is coming off back to back losses and being knocked out of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Tournament. Dan Henderson is coming off his victory over Rafael Cavalcante for the Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Championship strap.

Henderson weighed in at 207lbs and Fedor at 223. Fedor is the bigger and stronger guy and ,believe it or not, has more power in his stand up than hendo but Henderson's Greco-Roman wrestling skills and Fedor's natural tendency to throw shorter shorts in the guard give Henderson the opportunity he needs to pull this one out.

Dan is also completely capable of sending Fedor's chops into the 3rd row as well.

Strikeforce Challengers 17: Voelker vs Bowling fight VIDEO and REVIEW!!

On the horn with:
LEAD SR WRITER
In the first Strikeforce Challengers trilogy, Bobby Voelker has come out on top with his second straight 2nd round KO/TKO of Roger Bowling.

This fight was intense and ,as I stated in previous posts, this challengers card was so exciting to watch at all times because you can see and feel the fighters really getting after it and going out to inflict damage on their opponent. A quality that leaves fans hungry for more of the talents a particular fighter possesses.

Monopoly and Oversaturation

On the horn with:
SR MMA WRITER

As a casual fan I don't catch every single fight or even every single card for that matter. But I have been know to get fired from shitty sex-shop jobs because I'd rather watch Anderson Silva blast Vitor Belfort with a front kick to the face than show up for work. Worth it!

So with my position of just being, lets say, an average fan, I can still recognize the danger of monopoly and oversaturation that the UFC is heading towards.

In the field of MMA the UFC has held the title for most successful and most watched organization for some time now. As the UFC grew it swallowed other organizations such as Pride and WEC like a 8.9 earthquake sent waves to swallow the Japanese country side. And just like the wave gives the country side a chance to rebuild and make a better Japan, the UFC has a chance to rebuild the sport and make it better.

What the F%#k happened to the sport? Judges are going blind....The Heavyweight division blows, though I heard James Tony might have gotten his weight straight.

Timothy Bradley keeps headbutting people and crying after every fight. Sergio Martinez is nice wit the hands but is too cocky following his Paul Williams "Thing."

If he would have been around and fought a young James Toney he wouldn't be able to smile so much. I'd like a Sergio Martinez v.s. Andre Ward at a Catch weight (Though I'm sure its a Showtime v.s. HBO thing).

Speaking of Paul, I know you hv to feed your kids but its looking bad for your brain about now Brother and your opening has been exposed. I loved Roy Jones in his prime but as soon as he started making rap songs i knew he would falter. Nonito Donaire I like. That guy is fast. Brandon Rios is steamrolling everybody they put in front of em'. Antonio Tarver v Bernard Hopkins are proving people wrong.

Strikeforce Challengers 17: Devin Cole vs Shawn Jordan fight review and Video!

On the horn with:
LEAD SR WRITER

Lavar Johnson was the original opponent set to meet Cole but pulled out of the bout due to an injury on July 20, 2011. Strikeforce aquired newcomer Shawn Jordan to face Cole in place of Johnson.

Devin Cole throughout the entire fight looked as though his game plan was to take the newcomer ,who took the fight on extremely short notice, to deep water in the 2nd and 3rd and test the gas tank of Johnson.

As expected Johnson came out early with an aggressive bull rush that he most likely acquired during his football playing days. Johnson's aggressiveness early payed off in the 1st round when he took Cole down and arguably had his best opportunity to finish the fight when he had Cole flattened out his stomach and was riding Cole's back accompanied with punches.

Some how Cole got managed to get out from that dangerous position and land some solid stand up of his own. Cole's hands were getting through and landing on Jordans face but Jordan landed a big blow right at the end of the round which most definatively gave round one to Shawn Jordan

On July 22, 2011 the Strikefore Challengers: Voelker vs Bowling III card was frankly flat out entertaining as a fight fan to watch professional fighters really get at it in the cage and go for the finish regardless of the wounds inflicted on themselves as a result of their desire to find the stoppage.

The tallest vs the shortest in the UFC Heavyweight Division. Stefan Struve vs Pat Barry set to scrap!

On the horn with:

Pat Barry

The 6 foot 11 inch tall dutch fighter Stefan Struve is set to add to his impressive 21-5 record when he attempts to finish the always formidable Pat Barry at UFC Live on Versus 6 on OCT. 1, which will be headlined Dominick Cruz and Demetrious Johnson. More Match up Info Here

Pat Barry is coming off what is, besides Mike Russow knocking out heavyweight prospect Todd Duffee at UFC 114 and Scott Smith vs Pete Sell at The Ultimate Fighter 4#The Ultimate Finale, most likely the greatest MMA comeback I have ever witnessed when Cheick Kongo came back from seemingly being unconscious twice in the fight before his KO of Pat Barry.

I literally had trouble keeping my shirt because I had no way to comprehend what I just saw when Kongo pulled out the KO victory.

On the horn with:

Brian Bowles
Brian Bowles and Urijah Faber have agreed verbally to a battle at UFC 139 in the Bantamweight Division (145).

Bowles, coming of his unanimous decision victory over Takeya Mizugaki in which he overcame a broken hand to win the fight, can move a huge step forward with a victory over the "California Kid".

Bowles has gone on a 2 fight win streak since losing the title he won from former WEC Bantamweight champ Miguel Torres.

Bowles is inline to take another shot at Dominick Cruz and the title in which Cruz took from him due to a doctors stoppage at WEC 47.

A title which has since been absorbed by UFC to make Cruz the UFC Batamweight title holder.

Demetrious Johnson

This is an exciting and no doubt utterly chaotic main event at UFC Versus 6.

UFC Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz is set to defend his title on the UFC Versus 6 event from the Verizon Center in Washington D.C.

Cruz will face number one contender Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson for the strap on a card that will be a night of face smashing good times.

This match-up seems like a cardiac arrest waiting to happen and I will be glued to the television as soon as I can get home to watch this free on TV card.
The UFC also announced on its official twitter page that "The Spaniard" Charlie Brennaman will face hard hitting, fan-favorite, Anthony "Rumble" Johnson in a welterweight throw down.
