Sometimes it's the little things that get you knocked out

I hope you tuned in right at the start of the pay-per-view event because if you were a few seconds late you might have missed Jung "The Korean Zombie" Chan-Sung knocking out Mark Hominick to start the card off with a huge upset.

Hominick started off aggressive, attempting to make a statement at home, when he over-committed to a left hook and didn't bring his hand back to protect his face.

After leaving his jaw wide open for Jung's straight right, Hominick was soon on the mat with the Zombie raining down blows that soon prompted referee intervention.

All this happened within 7 seconds which ties the UFC record set by Todd Duffee for the fastest recorded knockout.

"I gotta give it up to him. I came out a little too wild. I really wanted to hit him with a clean shot. I know he keeps his hands down," Hominick said.

"I got a little too hyped up. You've seen me fight before, I don't fight reckless and I came out with a wild left hook. I just really wanted to get it done tonight."

(CONTINUED)...

The Fight... all of it.

This is a huge victory for Jung to couple his last win and make it two in a row.

Jung redeemed a questionable decision loss to Leonard Garcia in his last bout by applying the first Twister submission in UFC history to Garcia's spine.

So where will he go next? As much as I like the Zombie, I really don't consider him anywhere near a top-level fighter.

(Bloody Elbow feels he deserves a title shot now. Not quite sure about that yet .)

Though we didn't see much of his style in this fight, in the past he's appeared slow and plodding in his footwork. Jung is known for throwing wide, heavy punches with little accuracy or technique.

Knowing this about him and seeing him drop the division's last title contender so easily made that seven seconds all the more shocking.

He just proved that he has one-punch knockout power and if he develops the technical aspects of his stand up game, he can become a true knockout artist.

But for the moment I don't see him anywhere near a title shot. Although with the way Dana White's been acting recently, who knows?
